INTRO NOTE: This blog features quite a few photos of dogs.
The new year whizzed past us, so did January for that matter. We’ve been really busy out performing with our shows, our Sounds of the Sixties show has been really popular and we’ve just had 11 dates booked for our Sounds of the Seventies Show. As well as performances, we’ve been sorting out our bookings for the year, crikey there’s been A LOT, and we’ve also adopted a 12 week old puppy who is lovely but a HANDFUL. We don’t have many dates left if you were thinking about booking us for your event, party, or wedding, please do get in touch soon. Here’s a photo of our new mascot, office manager and chewer of leads and destroyer of stuffed toys. He’s got his own insta if you’d like to follow his journey.
The Zoots were performing at the party band at Berkshire
So today it’s Saturday the 17th of February and we’re on our way to Wargrave to perform for Graham at his 60th birthday. Graham spotted us when we performed at the wedding of Claire and Simon at Golf Club last year. He enjoyed the show so much that he decided he like to book us for his special birthday!
The date was booked and the plans were in motion. Zoots lead singer Jamie met with Graham before the big day to run through the plans and itinerary.
We arrived in really good time and loaded our equipment in. I was pretty excited as there was not one, not two but THREE doggos running around, so naturally I spent a lot of my time saying hello and taking photos with them.
We set up our equipment and soundcheck. Spaniels Willow & Bella helped us with soundcheck.
We were ready:
We went to our break out room which Graham had kindly arranged for us, Willow and Bella joined us for a catch up.
Graham had booked a super tasty pizza van to provide food for the evening and had very kindly catered for us too! It was DELICIOUS. There was a veggie option, a chicken option and a spicy beef! We were stuffed and very ready for our performance.
Graham had put a lot of time into creating a very entertaining pre-performance video which ran before our show. Before we knew it, it was time for us to go on:
We kicked off the show with our version of version of Apache (by The Shadows)Adam quickly disappeared into the crowd, serenading someone in the crowd with guitary goodness. . It really got the crowd going and set the bar for the rest of the set! We loved having Graham join us on stage for a number!
Graham, Nikki and their family showed us such warmth and hospitality, and we had such a wonderful time performing for them. Thank you so much to Graham and Nikki for choosing The Zoots to be their band for the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute!
Our next public show is on the 2nd of March (WHICH YOU CAN GET TICKETS TO HERE)
