So sorry, its been a total age since we’ve written. There’s no excuse really, apart from we’ve been really busy. Like our feet have hardly touched the ground, until now!
December 2016 was one of THE BEST December’s we’ve ever had. We went to Oman, to Dubai, to Germany, France and Belgium. And then we saw the New Year in (on the floor of the airport) in Cuba before sailing to Jamaica!! How lucky are we? I literally have 1000s of photos from our trips, so will include only a few below. If you want to see more, send me an email, and we’ll arrange a slideshow. 🙂
Dubai was hot and interesting. We went to the old Souks (markets) on the river where they sold spices, textiles and gold. We (Tommy) learnt the art of haggling, which came in very useful. We stopped for a bite to eat near the gold souk, where we had some delicious local foods. Jamie bought some of the local attire. We took a little boat across the river (video below) It was an incredible experience.
We saw the Burj Kalifur. Lead singer Jamie, and bass player Tommy went to the top and saw for miles around. I was far too terrified.
The shows we had onboard The Vision of The Seas, whilst in Dubai went down really well. We had standing ovations for all four shows and had the best time meeting everyone afterwards.
Dubai feels like such a long time ago now! After Dubai, we came back to the UK for a couple of days before heading off to perform on a Christmas Markets Cruise! Needless to say, the weather here was very very different to Dubai, it was freezing!! The markets were interesting. We enjoyed some gluvine and some tasty chocolates in Belgium!
Our shows on the ship were brilliant. As it was a smaller ship, we really enjoyed getting to know everyone onboard, and we were sad to leave a few days later.
After disembarking the ship in Southampton, we headed straight to another show, not too far away, we were on a roll!
Then it was back home to get ready for our final show of 2016, our Christmas show at The Beacon Wantage. It was a sell out and the dance floor was packed from the beginning! We had the best time.
Christmas came and went, quickly, as it usually does. We all got to spend a little time with our families which I know we all enjoyed.
Soon enough we were back at Heathrow, making our way to CUBA!! Unfortunately 2 of our suitcases didn’t make it with us to Cuba, which left us with a few challenges…
We were meeting the ship in Havana which was amazing, and so very different to any other place we’ve been to before. It was colourful and musical. People had opened up their living rooms to become shops, where they sold souvenirs. Some of which we bought and made some music…
2017 is set to be our busiest year to date. We have a couple of public shows lined up, first one is at The Beacon, Wantage on the 14th of April (see their website for tickets). We have a few dates available for bookings, so if you’re looking for a band, get in touch as they are filling up fast.
January is busy, we’ve had lots of shows already, and we’re getting ready for another one tomorrow (Wednesday) and another on Saturday. We’re busy planning for the year ahead, taking bookings for this year, and next, and even the next (very organised). We’ve trying to replace the items from the suitcase which is still missing. It’s black, 4 wheels and an orange strap if any of the Air France baggage crew are reading this, and we would just love to get it back.
We’ve got some exciting projects lined up, and some great new ideas and opportunities for the band.
Here’s to the new year.
Lots of love,
Hello weekend, and hello sunshine, sort of. We’ve just returned from a few days overseas, flying to Serbia, then to Kotor, and back from Barcelona. We had a brilliant show in a 900 seater theatre, it was really great (read about it here). But now, were glad to be home. We had a productive practice yesterday, running through some harmonies and some new songs (watch this space). Today, though, were off to Bicester to perform for Kristi and Nick on their wedding day at The Tythe Barn.
Welcome July! We’ve been waiting for you! Sunshine, BBQ’s and sangria, well not quite, but at least its a bit warmer. Today it’s Friday, and we’re pleased as we’re back in the UK after coming back from Turkey on Wednesday. We had an excellent show in the Coral Theater, onboard the Jewel of The Seas, you can read all about it here. … Continue Reading
We love the weekend! We’re usually off somewhere amazing, meeting and playing for some wonderful people. Last weekend we had a total blast playing got Liz & Ian at their wedding at Fernhill Farm. And this weekend is no different; we’re heading to Oxfordshire to perform for Alice & Brett at the Crazy Bear in Stadhampton. … Continue Reading
Hello! Me again,
Its been a crazy few months in Zoots world, we were touring non stop from November to the beginning of 2016 and we’ve moved our HQ. We’ve found an article from last November about our excellent cruise to Malta, Barcelona and Cagliari.
I hope you enjoyed our blog from December about our performance in the Broadway Melodies Theatre. When we weren’t busy onstage with our 1960’s show, we were fortunate enough to have some time off to explore the places which we stopped in, boy we’ve been very lucky Zoots this year, and we’ve visited some amazing places. Today I want to tell you a little bit about where we went, and share with you some photos we took on our travels in late November. … Continue Reading
It’s our very favourite part of the week, being a very busy band means we’re usually off doing what we love most. And this weekend, it’s a good ‘un. We’re off to perform at Bebe’s birthday party at the very swish Vineyard Hotel in Newbury.
It was Bebe’s sister, Jessie, who got in touch to see if we were available to be the band for the night. Now, if you’ve just joined us, let me tell you about Jessie. We performed at Jessie’s wedding way back in 2014 (I couldn’t believe it either, it really did feel like it was only yesterday!). You can read our blog about our performance at Jessie & Christian’s wedding at Huntsham Court. Jessie wore one of the most beautiful dresses ever – I loved the colours and details (see the photo below). We were just so thrilled when Jessie got in touch to ask us to perform again, I think being rebooked is one of the best compliments we can ever receive!

Emma was in charge of booking a band for the bash, and she chose us, having been her wedding band a little over a year ago! We remember the night well, in the gorgeous setting of the Crazy Bear in Stadhampton (you should really go there, it’s amazing).
Well hello lovely Internet viewer, are you having a good day? Is it cold where you are? It’s pretty nippy here, I have on 3 sweaters.
Have you done everything you need to? We haven’t. Our to do lists are as long as our arms, and then some. But it’s all great, we love being busy (srsly). … Continue Reading
Ok, so we’ve been back three days and I think we’ve just about recovered from what must have been our BEST shows ever, on board the Rhapsody of The Seas.
It began at Zoots HQ in Wiltshire of course, where most of our stories begin. We’ve had a busy few months performing at lots of events including Natalie & Rhys’ wedding, our awesome halloween show at Stamford Corn Exchange, as well as lots of other performances we just really haven’t had the time to tell you about. You may remember from our latest band blog post, we’re moving house, as well as having a full diary of performances and taking bookings well in to 2017, we’re pretty busy! So if you’re thinking about booking The Zoots, we’d recommend getting in touch asap!
